A 28-year-old Wildwood man has been arrested and charged with the sexual assault of a minor, authorities said.
Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Wildwood Police Chief Joseph Murphy said Kenneth Ricardo Medina-Machado, of the 100 block of Schellenger Avenue, was arrested following a joint investigation that began June 16.
An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, and on June 23 Medina-Machado voluntarily surrendered to the Wildwood Police Department.
He was charged with one count of sexual assault, a crime of the second degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, both in the second degree. He is being held at the Cape May County
Correctional Center pending further court proceedings.
A person convicted of a second-degree crime typically faces a prison term of five to 10 years and is subject to the provisions of the No Early Release Act.
